The absolute BEST car hire experience in Queenstown—hands down!
I’ve rented more cars than I can count, but Kabayan Car Rentals is in a league of its own. Kathreen is an absolute superstar—incredibly friendly, responsive, and kept me updated every step of the way.
What really sets them apart are the things other companies sting you for: the drop-off/pick-up service was seamless, there were zero additional driver fees, and—the best part—they didn't charge me a fortune to reduce the excess. Most places charge a daily arm and a leg to get it down to $800, but here it was included!
If you’re heading to Queenstown, do yourself a favor and book with Kabayan before they’re full. You won't regret it!

Kathreen and David from Kabayan Rentals made our New Zealand adventure a magical and unforgettable time. They are professional, yet friendly, adaptable, easy-going, and just plain nice. Our 12 passenger Mercedes sprinter was extremely comfortable, spacious and held all of our overpacked suitcases easily.
No matter what surprises arose, Kathreen and David were always there, willing to help but never intrusive.
They literally were there for us 24/7. One night when we asked them to pick us up from dinner, they happily showed up and drove us across the street to our motel – which we thought was much further away!
Kathreen and David are very customer service oriented and aim to please. We became like family. In fact, when they drove us to Greymouth to catch the TransAlpine train to Christchurch, we found it hard to say goodbye. Turns out we didn’t because our train was canceled due to unfortunate circumstances. They didn’t hesitate to drive us the five hours across New Zealand, even though it took them an extra night and were almost late for Kathreen’s surprise birthday party in Queenstown. That’s Service at its best.
They have our highest recommendation.

This is by far the best car hire company I have ever used. Kathreen was so helpful and friendly. We barely needed to lift a finger (the car was dropped off to our accom and then collected from the airport when we flew out!). Well priced, great service, perfect vehicle. I highly recommend this company.
